You might remember Alicia and Andrew from our engagement session in January. After a year of Alicia and I writing back and forth 3 or 4 times a week, their wedding day finally came! They flew us in from BC to be apart of their beautiful wedding in Mono Mills. I have mentioned this before I’m sure but Alicia and Andrew are the cutest couple. They are so playful and full of excitement. It was impossible not to have an amazing time. Alicia’s parents (the Leuhof’s) took Tristan and I in like we were their children, which made it unbelievably easy to blend into the wedding day. I overheard Alicia’s mom (Elaine) say to someone “oh don’t worry about it you know Jenna she’ll love that” Elaine knew as much about my style and portfolio as Alicia did, and I couldn’t help but smile. In the morning I joined the girls for casual tea and breakfast, which easily made up for the (super) early start. I am a big fan of tea time.
Their ceremony was so cute. Alicia and Andrew have a hard time being ‘serious’ so there were a lot of giggles coming from the alter. The ringbearer was Alicia’s nephew Marcel… and he seemed to think that the vow and ring exchange was hilarious and looked back at the crowd in a burst of laughter…causing an adult burst of laughter. It was a very enjoyable ceremony to watch and photograph. Later, at one point during our romantic photos, we met the founder of McDonalds! We were photographing on an old swing set and thought for sure this couple was coming to kick us off their property… but in fact they were just coming over to pass us coupons for free cheeseburgers!
The reception was equally as fun as the first half of the day, with hilarious speeches and games that had everyone in tears laughing. I usually am a sucker and cry during at least one speech per wedding… but this time when Alicia was thanking Tristan and I, I was crying so hard that I couldn’t even see. I guess all that time we spent getting to know each other and anticipating the wedding built up, and I was really feeling very attached. Even going through the photos was emotional, I did so with a lot of nostalgia. Everyone in their families are so sweet, and just looking how Alicia’s sisters looked at her was so touching. Along those lines, Andrew looks at Alicia with an incredible amount of love and admiration. You can see it so obviously in his eyes in so many shots. I love looking back on their wedding and recalling how happy and excited he was. I really just love them. And I loved every minute of their wedding.
