A couple days after photographing Jessie, I had a pretty cool day with Tristan’s brother Kaspar. Kaspar is quadriplegic, and this summer decided he’d like to skydive. So I went with him and Rod (their dad and my father in law) to photograph the entire thing from strapping him in to the landing. Most the of the time was spent on preparing for the jump. In this case getting strapped in was a lengthier process than for someone able-bodied. They asked me if I wanted to go in the plane as well, but I’d have to help with the launch and not be able to take pictures, and I’d also miss the landing. I decided I’d rather be on the ground to see his face when it was all over and I’m glad that I did. It was an awesome experience to be apart of. It was the beginning of many cool adventures I’m sure. On this day, my favourite moment was as we’re wheeling back to the car with Rod, and Kas says “Sweet I’m stoked I didn’t break my legs, every quad I’ve talked to that has gone sky diving has broken their legs on the landing” My eyes bugged out of my head. Ok then! I’m glad you didn’t break them either! That’s Kaspar for you though. Gotta love him… doesn’t let anything hold him back, and doesn’t hold anything back. You couldn’t ask for a better brother in law. Always keeps me entertained.

Jenna! You are a MASTER. That is so cool that Kaspar went sky diving – and very cool that you were able to capture the entire story. These photos are among the best I’ve seen of yours – and you know what a HUGE fan I am of your work. I’m sure Kaspar will absolutely love having this awesome photographic essay of his first of many sky diving days.

Dear Jenna, can I show your pictures of Kaspar at an event at Selkirk College in Castlegar? Can you check with Kaspar, too, for me? I was told about you and your pictures from a friend of the family. The pictures are superb! Thank you in advance. Irina Peters.
