Tristan and I have been working on our new site for a while now, and are happy to say that it has finally been “launched”. We’ve been working together for 3 years, and it started to seem silly that we didn’t have a joint site. Now that we’re married ‘Jenna & Tristan’ will be our new wedding business, and after much thought i’ve changed my name to take his. You’ll notice that I’ve changed my header to Jenna Shouldice, and I will eventually change my personal website/blog to that as well. After a couple days of being back on the island, Jessie Carlson flew me to Vancouver for the day to photograph her for her business. I flew on one of the harbour planes from downtown Victoria to downtown Vancouver, which I would recommend to anyone visiting the area, the flight is stunning. It flies low so you get to see all the gulf islands on your way. Jessie is a personal wardrobe consultant, so we photographed her in a working situation. I photographed Jessie’s wedding in September so it was great to spend the time with her before hand, getting to know her and her life a little bit better. She is someone who is so lovely to be around. Jessie is so beautiful and so candid. Talking to her is so easy because you know she is telling you the truth. I had a wonderful time spending the day with her, and I wish she lived on the island. It was also really nice to know how excited she was that Tristan and I were going to photograph her wedding. Obviously everyone is excited for their photos but I just loved how much trust and faith she had put in us. Photographing her was so pleasant. It is obvious in the pictures I’m sure. She is very comfortable in front of the camera and would just continue her conversation with me while I took pictures. Between the various locations we shot at it, it was so lovely to talk her about weddings, business… anything in general. It is always inspiring to be around women who run their own business with such passion and determination. Before my flight home we had some time to kill and she took me wedding dress shopping, so I got to experience first hand Jessie Carlson at work, and I’m so glad that I did! She was absolutely perfect shop with, I can totally see what her clients love about her. I would refer Jessie to anyone in a heartbeat. I’ve included pictures straight from her site.
